Monthly report
September 2026 · data through 2026-10-01 · updated monthly
Machines started paying machines through the x402 protocol. Every dashboard shows the gross flow. This report shows what is left after removing storefronts and automated distributors, who the money goes to, how many services anyone actually pays, and how much settles where no catalog is looking.
settled to x402 services at agent scale in 30 days. Gross USDC through the same wallets was $4.75M: 99.2% of the headline number is storefronts and distributors, not agents.
of gross flow goes to 2 wallets. Among agent-scale services, the top 10 take 70% of settlement.
distinct paying agents made 968,962 payments, average ticket $0.0369. Small, frequent, machine-sized.
rated services stand above the BBB trust line; 512 are rated D (no measurable adoption). 1,522 have at least one organic paying agent.
as much agent-scale USDC settles on Base OUTSIDE the discovery catalogs as inside them (last 3 days: $7,238 vs $1,727). 50 unlisted wallets are on the watchlist.
hosts across both discovery catalogs: PayAI lists 29,702 resources, the CDP Bazaar 38,576. Only 45% of listed resources answered a price today.
USDC settled per day to x402 services at agent scale, across Base, Polygon, Arbitrum and Solana (the Agent Economy Index). Last 7 days: $8,745 (-4% week over week). By network: solana 54%, base 46%, arbitrum 0%, polygon 0%.
2,139 wallets received USDC in 30 days; 1,681 of them at agent scale. Two wallets took 82% of the gross. Among rated services, 1338 had any settlement in 14 days and the top 10 took 70% of it.

1,747 services rated by proven adoption (organic paying agents, real settlement, network centrality, uptime as a gate), on a scale from AAA to D with the trust line at BBB. 318 of them are unlisted wallets rated from on-chain evidence alone.

Method change on 2026-09-21. A payTo wallet shared by several hosts is rated once, as a family entry keyed by the owning domain, and a host that only mirrors another owner's wallet no longer receives its adoption. Before this date the whole wallet was credited to one host. Entries can start, end or change tier on this date because of the rule, not because the service changed. The rule.
Method change on 2026-09-26. Agent scale is judged payment by payment. Before this date a payTo wallet was left out whenever its 14-day average ticket went above US$ 1, so one large payment removed a service for 14 days, and once the average fell back under US$ 1 the same payment inflated its settlement. From this date payments are read per payer, wallet and day: a day averaging at most US$ 1 counts in full and, on a day averaging above US$ 1, each payment counts as US$ 1, for settlement, adoption, centrality and the AEI; dust (under US$ 0.0001) counts for nothing; and a wallet is left out only when its payments above US$ 1 outnumber those of at most US$ 1, or when it received none of those. Entries can start, end or change tier on this date because of the rule, not because the service changed. The rule.
68,278 resources and 5,273 hosts across the two discovery catalogs (cdp: 38,576 resources, 3,397 hosts, payai: 29,702 resources, 1,986 hosts). 385 hosts appeared in the CDP Bazaar in the last 7 days. Liveness probe of 65,446 listed resources on 2026-10-01: 45% answered with a price (HTTP 402), 29% did not answer at all.
Every x402 facilitator settles USDC with transferWithAuthorization (EIP-3009). We read all of
those authorizations on Base, every day, and keep the receivers that are in no discovery catalog. In the last
3 days, agent-scale wallets outside the catalogs settled $7,238
against $1,727 inside them
(4.2x).
The largest unlisted wallet, 0x68396bd3…, took $20,311 from 722 payers in 14 days and has no name anywhere.

Most agent work is paid by subscription, not on-chain (Grok Bot, OpenClaw, Claude Cowork). We cannot measure that settlement, so we measure the supply: the ClawHub registry listed 79,130 skills on 2026-10-01, 94,719,308 downloads in total, 603 skills added in 7 days and 3,837 in 30; 78,798 have 100+ downloads and 803 mention x402, wallets or USDC. Most downloaded: Self-Improving + Proactive Agent (210,473), Github (199,651), ontology (199,361), SkillScan (182,167), Proactive Agent (176,426).
Every figure is computed from the Agent Economy Report daily archive: the x402 discovery catalogs (CDP Bazaar and PayAI), USDC transfers to every catalog payTo wallet on Base, Polygon, Arbitrum and Solana mainnets, EIP-3009 AuthorizationUsed events on Base (all facilitators), and a daily liveness probe of every listed resource. Agent scale = payments read per payer, wallet and day: a day averaging at most $1 counts in full, on a day averaging above $1 each payment counts as $1, dust under $0.0001 is not counted; wallets need at least one payment of at most $1, no fewer of those than payments above $1 and <= 100,000 transfers other than dust in the trailing 14 days. The rest (the part of larger payments above the cap, dust, human storefronts, automated distributors) is reported as gross but excluded from the index. Ratings: sybil-resistant adoption score, trust line at BBB.
